Back home from the XX AmiCigar Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Event - Part 1

3 Mayo 2026
On Saturday, 2nd May, I arrived back home at around 10:00 o' clock. Dropped my luggage and went down to the corner having a breakfast cigar, still a bit sleepy and needed the whole day to accommodate being home. Took a nap in the afternoon for some hours. Woke up Sunday quite early for in contrary to my normal Sunday wake up time. For me normally around midday on the weekends.

I arrived on the 16th of April in Ho Chi Minh (HCM). Dropped off my luggage at the Apartment and looked for a Cigar lounge to get some cigars and a lighter and gas, which at the end was not needed as my lighter was refilled every time I went to the la Casa del Habanos Lounge (LCDH) or the Habanos Specialist (HS) Lounge.
The first think I noticed was the traffic in HCM is nothing like I have seen before. It is another dimension. Every walk is plastered with motorcycles, as such are the streets with less cars. Amazing how they coordinate the flow. It just works. With an app like uber in Vietnam there is grab. You order a cab and it drives you around for around 1,50 Euros to max 4 Euro for longer distances. You can also order a motocyle for half of the price.

My daily routine was having breakfast on a side street nearby my apartment.

Then for a quieter less traffic and less noisy place for having coffee and my cigar. Vietnam is a coffee nation. Plenty of coffee shops. The coffee variations are plenty and yummy.

After my morning cigar I went normally to the LCDH Lounge or the HS lounge and smoking my second stick.

After the second stick I go for dinner and my last smoke for the day. That was my daily routine till the event started.
In the next part I will report about the 2 days before the event and the registration day. Stay tuned

It is a pleasure to read that your experience in Vietnam, was a pleasant one. Really regret not being able to attend the tribute to friendship, as I call the Amicigar event. Despite having requested a week off from work a year in advance and have it approved, it was disapproved by the 2025 new management. I have seen photos and videos of the event, and seemed totally blessed. Lots of familiar faces. True loss on my end. You and your crew, always to the highest standards. If I am fortunate to be invited next year, will not miss it for anything. I already spoke with my HR representative and got the green light. Also was told that it was your last event as director, and have to say that we all will always remember your professionalism and friendship.

Thank you and hope to see you soon, maybe in Havana.

Best regards for you, your wife, Giusseppe, Fernando and the rest of the gang. Blessings to all.

Of all the Amicigar events I have attended, this one in Ho Chi Minh City was the most familiar and truly the crown jewel of all the previous events.

Many thanks as well to La Casa del Habano and the Habanos Specialists for also being part of such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you, Gino, Giuseppe, Fernando, and all the generous sponsors.

I am very happy and already looking forward to next year with great anticipation.❤️💃🏾❤️💃🏾
